Reptiles
These “cold-blooded, air-breathing, scaly vertebrates” – the ancestors of birds and mammals – have existed for over 280 million years. I’ve always been fascinated by them, in particular snakes, and more recently, chameleons. I haven’t planned specific trips to look for any of them but over the years I have been fortunate to accumulate a little collection of stumbled-upon creatures. With luck I hope to keep growing this portfolio, which wouldn’t be half as big without my visits to Madagascar, home to over 50% of the world’s chameleons.
