Birds
In 2019 I challenged myself to try and capture as many magazine-worthy photos of the over 2,700 African species that bejewel our continent. Many are once-off vagrants; many more are far out at sea; too many are threatened, endangered, or critically rare; and far too many are in areas that are often impossible to access. I set a target of 1,001 – it seemed like a formidable but attainable number.
